I have just spent 8 days at the Yoga Borgo in Umbria italy and it has been life changing in a positive way.
I have done a yoga and meditation class every morning. After daily yoga first thing in the morning, the day is amazing afterwards. With that much yoga and relaxation, my body, mind and spirit feel incredible. I feel very harmonious, healthy and peaceful.
I had a one on one yoga instruction class with Sada Sat Kaur as I wanted to explain all my post-surgery body issues and find out how to do poses correctly without tummy muscle! It was really great as I now have a personalised class to do each morning which caters to my post-breast cancer body; some of the exercises have been adapted so I can do them but many of the exercises are the usual ones which will stretch out my arm and strengthen my tummy.
I met some wonderful people. The couple who ran the retreat are generous and warm – and I have met aspiring yogis from all over the world. Carmel from Australia, Fabian and Brigitta from Switzerland, Veejay from England and Sabina from Sweden. I have made new friends and generously, Fabian and Brigitta drove me to Rome yesterday. We had a great trip.
I also got 5-6 hours of writing done each day and completed draft chapters for a third of my book. I am rapt.
Each day I did walks in to the mountains and had time to reflect on life and just let go of any stress. It is a beautiful area.
It has been the trip of a lifetime and I hope to be back next year.
A post-breast cancer group at the Yoga Borgo?
Would any of you like to join me on a group trip to Umbria next year – to do yoga, healing and have a retreat at the Yoga Borgo? I have had a few emails from women who would like to go. I would love to take a group of my wonderful breast cancer survivors with me.
