Here are a few healthy things that I love:
This oil has had a lot of publicity. My medical team have recommended this as more effective than anything else on the market. It has really helped with my surgery scars. Available at supermarkets, pharmacies or via the affiliate link below.
Micropore Medical Tape
This tape is used for a few months post-surgery to help heal and reduce scars. It is miraculous and even comes in flesh colour now. Available at pharmacies.
Silky pillows are crescent shaped, satin covered pillows available free for women who have had breast surgery to protect the underarm area. They are so soft and soothing when healing. Available from the Cancer Society and through the surgical wards. http://www.cancernz.org.nz/divisions/wellington/our-services/support-services/#Silky
Funky Purses for Drains
There are little cute material purses made to fit drains post-surgery. So if you have a drain (or even four as I did), you can hide the drains in the purses and go for a walk. These are available through the Surgical Ward or through the Cancer Society.
Immune Boost Spray
This is an easy to use herbal mouth spray which boosts the immune system. Use when you feel run down or feel a cold coming on (depending on whether you are able to take herbs). Available from the Botanical Herbal Dispensary. 3 Moxham Ave, Hataitai. Wellington phone 04 3862223
Kerastase Shampoo for Thinning Hair
My hairdresser recommended Kerastase Bain Prevention Densifying shampoo for soothing and normalising the scalp – while having chemo. I found it very good as my scalp was sensitive and I was losing hair. It is available from most hairdressers or online from Strawberry Net on this affiliate link Kerastase Specifique Bain Prevention GL Intervention Corporisante Shampoo (For Thinning Hair) 250ml/8.5oz
